The Environmental Centre still remembers the days of making new social connections and engaging in reading clubs. To renew this tradition we decided that the very first project of the Environmental Centre will be the establishment of an "Environmental reading club". The aim of this project is to bring the latest published environmental literature closer to the public.
The Environmental reading club takes place once a month at the Info point of the Environmental Center. It is organised in cooperation with one of the members of the Environmental Center (CIPRA Slovenija, Focus, Slovenian e-forum, Institute for sustainable development, Umanotera). Every time a piece of literature with an environmental content is presented. Various experts from the field that the publication covers debate on the subject, while audience is invited to take part in the debate afterwards. So far we presented these books:

Have you graduated in environmental protection or in sustainable development? We offer you the opportunity to give public presentation of your thesis at Info point of Environmental Centre. What's all about?
With the help of experts from Slovene universities - supporters and sympathizers of Environmental Centre in the field of humanistic science, sociology and technology - we chose the best thesis in environment protection and sustainable development and make it possible for students to present them to public in an interdisciplinary debate.
We would like to promote and connect young environmental researchers from all over Slovenia and give them support at gaining professional skills and experience in the field of environment protection and sustainable development.
A list of all presented works will be published on our website with the name of author and short abstract of the thesis and also the companies that participated in the event.
By September 2009 10 presentations are planned. In the beginning of study year 2009/2010 we are planning to host a meeting of all authors with representative donators, sponsors, governmental organizations, NGOs and journalists.
